GapGun advances by half a hair’s breadth
GapGun, the hand-held laser measurement device used to verify
dimensional accuracy in build-critical applications in the
aerospace and automotive industries is now available with an
optional high resolution head that doubles its accuracy to
within just 50 microns.
The new head fine tunes performance for fine detail measurements
and other demanding applications and is particularly suitable
where multiple adjoining measurements require the GapGun to
operate within a small field of view.
Easily adapted between hand-held and
robot mounted operation,
GapGun3
has the functionality required to execute a wide range of measurement
operations in just one single device, performing consistently
without the need for frequent calibration. It operates
effectively on a broad range of surfaces including unpolished
and galvanized metals, plastics, soft furnishings, glass and
mirrored finishes. As a result, GapGun has found
a particular niche in the aerospace
industry, in the verification of production quality on panels,
doors and hatches and also in automotive manufacture where it is
being used for both painted and Body in White measurements,
sealant beads and for interior dashboards and trim.
GapGun’s high resolution head is available at no additional cost
and existing GapGun users can upgrade for a small fee.
