Qualifications and experience:
• Team and programme management
• Strong software engineering background with a good knowledge of related technologies
• A self-starter, able to perform to deadlines in an autonomous and team environment
• Professional qualifications in Science/Engineering/Mathematics
• Extensive commercial C++ application and C# .NET desktop development experience
• Algorithms/mathematical experience and able to write clear, maintainable code
• Strong interest and enthusiasm for engineering or technology

• Windows installers (Wix)
• Exposure to image processing, metrology software or robotics
• Embedded software development
• Aerospace or automotive experience

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Application Engineer with excellent customer facing skills to establish a highly successful career within Third Dimension. You will be supporting product installations, providing both remote and face to face support and technical training to our international network of distributors and key customers, and supporting our sales team with your technical expertise, so expect a varied and fulfilling typical week where no two days are the same.

This role will involve regular UK and international travel so the ideal candidate will be organised, thorough and capable of managing multiple product development and internal improvement projects whilst recognising the fluid and flexible requirements of a small but growing business.

Your role will be varied and challenging where your responsibilities would include:

  • Planning projects to meet customer needs.
  • Providing product and application support for customers both off-site and on-site
  • Offering continued support for Sales Team
  • Test and create reports for technical applications
  • Launch new products to distributors, clients and sales teams by giving presentations, demonstrations and tests
  • Plan, design, develop and deliver trainings on existing products
  • Control preparation, management and fixing of demonstration equipment for Sales team
  • Develop, update and disseminate technical guides and tips in order to increase the knowledge and skill level of the sales force via company intranet and/or electronic newsletters
  • May need to assist salespeople with on-site presentations to customers, as and when needed
  • Proactively identify areas to improve department operation efficiency and initiate projects to achieve such improvements
  • Handling IT related issues and other duties or projects, as and when assigned
  • Develop, proofread and modify all new product release materials such as product literature, technical and sales manual, training manual through coordination with the parent company
  • Attending and supporting marketing exhibitions

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Aerospace and/or automotive manufacturing.
  • Metrology.
  • Excellent customer facing skills, by telephone, email and in person.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in an autonomous and team environment.
  • Innovative problem solving and incident management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering documentation and Engineering Drawings. ​​​​​​​
  • Graduate Level or equivalent professional qualifications in Engineering.

Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 full time equivalent
Contract Type: Permanent / Part time 20+ hours a week

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Software Engineer to join a growing Engineering team working on developing the next generation of the company’s innovative handheld and robotic laser measurement systems.

Role:

  • Design and develop new software components for the company’s innovative handheld and robotic laser measurement systems.
  • Contribute to new product development.
  • Assist other members of the Engineering team on their projects.  
  • Provide information and help on company software
  • Analyse and fix existing code

 Required skills and experience:
