Role:

We are looking for an Applications Engineer to join our fast-growing customer and engineering support team based in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Application Engineer with strong customer-facing skills and an adaptable approach to work. This is a supporting role to our worldwide distributor network and key customers, reporting to the Applications Manager.

Your role will be varied and challenging, with responsibilities including:

  • Planning projects to meet customer needs
  • Delivering technical training
  • Supporting product installations
  • Solving technical challenges
  • Supporting the sales team where necessary
  • This role will involve regular UK and international travel

The ideal candidate will be organised, thorough and capable of managing multiple product development and internal improvement projects whilst recognising the fluid and flexible requirements of a small business.

Required:

  • Experience in the aerospace and/or automotive manufacturing industry.
  • Metrology experience.
  • Excellent customer facing skills, by telephone, email and in person.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in an autonomous and team environment.
  • Innovative problem solving and incident management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering documentation and Engineering Drawings.
  • Graduate Level or equivalent professional qualifications in Engineering.

Desirable:

  • At least two years application support experience, preferably in a field-based role.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience of delivering technical training in an international environment.
  • Knowledge of PC and Embedded hardware, Windows Systems, Microsoft Office, and TCP/IP networking.
  • Foreign language skills are beneficial.
