CEO
What do you think of the product range at Third Dimension?
Third Dimension is a leader in non-contact measurement tools and was the first company to industrialise a solution. Despite a first partnership with Volvo Cars, the Aircraft manufacturers became the early adopters of the technology. Now we deliver this reliable way of measurement within several verticals. Robotics is now showing significant opportunities thanks to Vectro; Third Dimension non-contact laser measurement solution which can be mounted on a robot, cobot, or fixed arm.
What attracted you to your role at Third Dimension?
Three specialities of Third business teased my interest after my interviews: an international sales activity, highly technical product and humanistic spirit. After two years working for Third Dimension this is still true. We deal with key customers all over the world which brings interest, diversity and challenges. The metrology world is quite challenging and non-contact measurement mix laser vision, software analytics and complex applications. But what is an important driver for me is the human side of the business, and I think that we do our best to respect and live our values and make sure all employees enjoy being part of the team.
Application Engineer
What is your role/what do you do?
I offer technical expertise on the GapGun to customers from the first demo, during installation, and throughout the lifetime of the product. Since I am in direct contact with customers, I gather feedback and enable us to remain responsive to customer needs. I also work in collaboration with our R&D team to provide a customer-facing perspective on new features and products.
What attracted you to Third Dimension?
As a first graduate job, I was looking for a role where I could quickly grow and take on responsibility. Third Dimension stood out as a they are a SME with an international customer base. This signalled to me that they might place a higher degree of investment in each individual employee. This conjecture has proved to be true. Over the last year I have received in-depth training about how the GapGun works and am currently enrolled in a metrology training course to further my knowledge.
What makes you stay?
One of the main reasons I enjoy my job at Third Dimension is the working environment. I have enough freedom to take responsibility for my own tasks, while never being unsure as to the scope of my role. I have a direct line of communication with all colleagues, so collaboration comes naturally. As a bonus, I get to work with customers all over the world.
IT Manager
What do you like the most about your job?
I have various roles at work, IT, Health and safety, facility, so no one day is ever the same. I like the variety in my role. In an average day, I could go from assisting the support team with licence queries, to troubleshooting a problematic computer, to researching a new wireless authentication server. I am involved in all areas of the business and enjoy interacting with all team member.
Where can you see the future of Third Dimension going?
As technology moves on, new improved products are being thought out and put through their paces. As a world leader in non-contact measurement tools, we strive to keep improving our products.
More industries are becoming aware of our product, and we now have our products used to check white good, mobile phones, food packaging and more obscure items. It is great to see us branching into other areas and not just the aerospace and automotive sectors. Automation is a current big push, where our Vectro 2 is mounted on robots for automated inspections.
Head of Sales & Support
What does your working life look like?
My working life at Third Dimension is extremely varied and keeps me on my toes. One day I may start at 5am to have a call with an overseas distributor in Australia, whereas other days I could spend time providing technical support to our customers and distributors in the Americas and Asia.
What do you enjoy most about your role / working for Third Dimension?
I really enjoy travelling and within this role I have the opportunity to travel to other countries fairly regularly which is rewarding. Working day-to-day with everyone in the Third Dimension team is also fantastic; it’s a very tight-knit group with a feeling of togetherness.
